This paper analyzes the possibility of immobilization of arsenic, as pollutants present in soil at the landfill site by using the method of stabilization / solidification with cement and/or cement with aditives addition. The survey aims to study level of As immobilization by using leaching test from S/S samples and is in this connection to examine the possibilities of their safe disposal. The results indicate that the arsenic contaminated soil after treatment with S / S method with the use of cement as well as cement/additive mixture, as a matrix can be safely disposed of in landfills for inert and non hazardous waste. There are some possibilities for use such blocs as a construction material in the construction industry, but further investigation must o be carried out. The paper presents selected results from research activities developed in Doctoral dissertation: 'The development of the rehabilitation of polluted areas'. Main focus is in application of remediation technologies on soil contaminated by As, originated from waste disposal sites. Remediation is based on process of solidification, by using cement and cement/additives as a matrix (in the S/S).References
